ACT is supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through its regional arts funding partnership, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA). State government funding to the arts depends upon an annual appropriation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by the Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance.

Job Description: Assistant Stage Manager

The Assistant Stage Manager is the person who assists the stage manager through the entire production period and helps with the responsi-bility for the show as it moves into the theatre for final rehearsals and performances.

All duties are at the discretion of the Stage Manager. Please refer to the Stage Manager job description.

PRE-PRODUCTION

With the Stage Manager, develop a schedule so that at least one of you will be in attendance at all rehearsals.

AT THE THEATRE

The Assistant Stage Manager generally works the Stage Right station, opposite the Stage Mana-ger who is usually stationed Stage Left. This allows the ASM to cue (and sometimes operate) the act curtain, oversee actors entran-ces from the SR side of the stage and help cue operation of the Pin Rail.
