Job Description: Board Liaison
The Board Liaison for a production is a member of ACT’s Board of Directors who is not involved in the show in anyway and acts as an impartial overseer and problem solver. Board Liaisons are recruited by ACT’s President and Operations Manager. A Board Liaison should be appointed not only for ACT Mainstage productions but also for competition pieces, children’s shows and other additional productions.
PRE-PRODUCTION
- Schedule a meeting or phone conversation with the Director once the Board Liaisons are assigned in July to introduce self to director.
AUDITIONS
- Be present at all Audition and Callback sessions, or arrange for another Board representative to be present. The purpose is not to provide input regarding the casting of the show but to make sure auditions are conducted in a fair and equitable manner
REHEARSAL PERIOD
- Be present at all the First Read-through to introduce self to cast and production crew.
- Provide phone numbers & e-mail for the Contact Sheet distributed to cast and crew members.
- Maintain open communications throughout the production period and stop by at least one rehearsal to re-connect with the director, cast and staff and check on progress.
- Report, as necessary, on the production to the ACT Board during its regular meetings.
