The public performance will be Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m., and if you'd like to usher, call Karen Volpe at BCAF at 814-949-2787. Auditions for "Pinkalicious" January 25ACT will hold auditions for the children's musical "Pinkalicious" at 6 p.m. Monday, January 25, in the Barbara Titelman Spessard Rehearsal Hall of the ACT Workshop, located downtown at 1213 12th Street. Based on a popular children's book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, "Pinkalicious" is about a little girl who loves the color pink so much she wishes she could be pink. One day, after eating too many pink cupcakes the night before, she wakes up to find her dream has come true. "Pinkalicious" will be presented as part of Blair County Arts Foundation's Family Theatre at the Mishler series, with one public performance Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m. and three school-day matinees. Rehearsals will begin the last week in January. Gina Volpe and Rachel Volpe, who both have taught ACT's children's workshops, are co-directors of the production. Jonathan O'Harrow is Musical Director. Roles available include:
Although the characters of Pinkalicious and Peter are children, they generally are played by teens or young adults. Adult actors are encouraged to audition for the mother, father and Dr. Wink. Auditionees are asked to prepare a very short song and bring music in the proper key for the accompanist. No recorded accompaniment will be allowed. Anyone not preparing a song will be taught one at the auditions. There also will be readings from the script. Anyone auditioning should also bring a calendar or schedule of their conflicts during the rehearsal period. Because the two performance days include school field-trip matinees, cast and crew members must be able to be absent from school or work until 2 p.m. on those days. Also, because of overlapping rehearsal schedules, anyone cast in "Pinklicious" will not be able to audition for Missoula Children's Theatre's production of "Jack and the Beanstalk" which will be in residence at the Mishler February 22 to 27. Perusal copies of the "Pinkalicious" script and recording are available at the ACT administrative office. |
