"Broadway Bound" Load-in November 6Load-In for ACT's BROADWAY BOUND is Saturday, November 6, beginning at 9 a.m., so please plan to volunteer a few hours and help move the set and props over to the Mishler and put things in place onstage and backstage. Since the set is a two-level house similar to last year's set for BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, we'll need a lot of hands to help carry, so please try to make it ... and feel free to bring along family members and friends! Auditions for "Broadway Bound" September 19 & 20Altoona Community Theatre will hold auditions for the Neil Simon comedy/drama "Broadway Bound" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, September 19, and 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, in the Barbara Titelman Spessard Rehearsal Hall of the ACT Workshop, located downtown at 1213 12th Street, next to Tom & Joe's diner. "Broadway Bound" is the final part of Simon's semi-autobiographical trilogy, taking place 12 years after "Brighton Beach Memoirs" (which ACT presented last year) as brothers Stanley and Eugene Jerome are trying to break into the world of professional comedy writing while coping with the breakup of their parents. Perusal copies are available in the ACT office. All roles are available and no prior experience with ACT is necessary. Rehearsals will begin the last week of September, with performances scheduled the weekend before Thanksgiving. For more information, contact ACT at (814) 943-4357. |
